My Grandpa Hixson (Vantyle Mack) died in Salt Lake City when I was nearly 4 years old. We were living in Grace, Idaho, at the time of his death on the 3rd of April, 1943. Grandma Hixson (Mary Edith King) died on the 22nd of August, 1919, when my father was just a boy of 6 years. It was said of Grandpa that he was a jolly, little round man who lived in a bungalow on 11th East.

Grandpa remarried Agnes Lusty 5 years later, and she is holding me.
